Story on the back:
It was -30 degrees Celsius on a January morning in northern Alberta. By afternoon, it had warmed up to -25°C. Maybe that’s why this black-capped little guy was vocalizing with such enthusiasm.
I turned with delight and spotted him, perched on a string of Christmas lights adorning the chokecherry bush in our front yard.
My fingers nearly froze while taking these photos, but I felt compelled to share the story of this remarkable, tenacious, feathered friend who inspired me to live in the moment and crack a smile in the cold.
Why wait till spring to let your heart sing?
