Description
I had been out painting “plein air” with a group of artist friends. The bluffs seemed sculptured by the Peace, which worked its art through the land over time. I finally had to stop painting and just watch the scene.
I took photographs and later went home to make a linocut print which enabled me to sculpt the scene as the Peace had done and continues to do.
My art making is a response to my environment – excerpts from living in the Peace region of northern British Columbia. I am deeply affected by the mighty Peace River, the aspen woods, and the birds that surround me. I enjoy finding places where humans and nature come together and look for the extraordinary in the ordinary.
