The crocus pushes up through the sod,
gets covered in snow, but gives a nod
to light and life – the rising sun.
The snow will melt, spring has begun.

Description

Story on the back:

The wild crocus, also called the Pasque or Easter flower, is one of the first signs of life and colour in spring after the long cold winter. The delicate, fuzzy purple flower, with its brilliant yellow centre, sometimes gets snowed on after blooming, but it bravely reaches for the sun and perseveres in blessing the world with hope and beauty when it’s most needed.

See the blog post, “Nobody sees a flower really…” – a tribute to the wild Canadian prairie crocus.
