Sandy and her husband carved their home out of the wilderness near Fort St. John in northern B.C. The beauty of her surroundings never fails to delight and inspire her. She uses contrast and colour relationships to express the liveliness and essence of her subjects. Sandy enjoys experimenting with technique and mediums and has studied with many notable artists and mentors whose expertise has helped her find her current path. During a west coast workshop with Charles Reid, the lively activity on the boat docks captured her interest. She sat on the dock one lovely summer day to put these two exuberant images on canvas.
